Back from the (near) dead...

...the SMOMB returned to the studio today.

After two weeks of sickness & “old age” blues, the SMOMB returned to the studio today. We made a little video to share with my old Pal in California.

The idea was to demonstrate to him how we’re learning to work with the gear we have to make a better amplified Harp & Uke sound.

We ran two simple effect-pedal chains; one for ukulele and one for amplified harmonica. Happily for all, there’s no attempt at singing here!

Chain One:
LaurelJUke + Boss Fender Bassman + Boss RC-2

Chain Two:
1847 + Shaker-Mad-Dog + Ad Harp Attack + Danelctro FAB Delay

Both chains ending up as sound projected from our Hartke KM100 amp:
Hartke KM100 We’re happy with this ultra-clean sounding keyboard amplifier: 100-watts, 4 high-Z channels plus a low-Z vocal mic plug in, built in mixer and 7-Band Equalizer. It’s a fat beast at about 55-lbs. but that 12” woofer is worth it.

Here’s the video featuring an improvised 8-bar blues:
